Rhythm Engineering comments on earning Ingram’s top recognition

KANSAS CITY, MO — July 25, 2011 — During this unsteady economic recovery, one Kansas City area company is thankful it found its rhythm. Ingram’s magazine named traffic technology firm Rhythm Engineering the fastest growing company in the Kansas City area in its July 2011 issue, on newsstands now. The company’s revenue multiplied by more 3,000% from 2007 to 2010, thanks to its artificially intelligent traffic signal system that sees and adapts to traffic demand. The system is selected for use at more than 450 intersections in 13 states.

“We are humbled and honored to be at the top of Ingram’s list,” said Dr. Reggie Chandra, founder and CEO. “Innovation is the lifeblood of our company and will continue to drive us forward. Rhythm Engineering approaches the age-old problem of traffic congestion with new thinking in order to come up with new solutions. We want to find the best ways to get people where they’re going faster and more safely, even if that means going after ideas that traffic engineers never before considered.”

Rhythm Engineering’s flagship product, InSync, is proven to reduce vehicle stops by up to 90%, travel time by up to 50% and fuel consumption and emissions by 20-30%. It also improves safety by reducing stop-and-go traffic, abrupt stopping and red light running, all of which can cause crashes, injuries and even fatalities.

“At the heart of our mission is improving communities and making life better for people,” continued Chandra. “It’s very gratifying to do this type of work. We are making a difference for millions of motorists from California to New York, and we’re passionate about making that difference right here in Kansas and Missouri, too. We appreciate this recognition and the opportunity to reach more communities.”

Rhythm Engineering is based in Lenexa, KS and has 38 employees. The company has several traffic management products in research and development, some slated for release in late 2011.
